Was going to blog about the e equivalent of serendipitous browsing but I’ve been somewhat distracted the last couple of days. Having finished off the Miles Vorkosigan series in its entirely including the last novel and all known short stories, I just didn’t feel like starting another book. Nor really picking up a book, though I have a few in progress. A friend tweeted about the trailer for the next edition of Tomb Raider on the PS3 and it looked impressive. It also reminded me that I never got round to finishing Tomb Raider: Underworld on the PS2.
So I switched on the PS2 for the first time in ages and loaded it up yesterday. I realised that I’d been stuck early on and was able to quickly move past the hurdle that had stumped me previously. I think I must have played for 10 or so hours and it was a bit after 2am that I finally finished a major section signifying the two third mark or thereabouts. I’d been saving regularly so I went to bed. After work today, I realised I hadn’t been saving properly: in some games, it’s just a matter of clicking save and continuing, in this game, you’re required to select a save file as well. D’oh!
Needless to say, I’ve spent most of tonight replaying; thankfully it was much faster second time through. Though the finicky bits remained so and still took several goes. From there, I even advanced, substantially, and am now a little over three quarters of the way through.
